Jonas Is Ready To Take Third World Title!

Natasha Jonas will be aiming to win a third world title this year when she fights Marie-Eve Dicaire in November.

Natasha Jonas believes her boxing career is proof that she is up for the challenge of claiming a third world title in a year when she takes on Marie-Eve Dicaire.

Jonas will headline a full BOXXER bill when she takes on Dicaire at the Manchester Arena on Saturday 12th November, with the world WBC, WBO, IBF and Ring Magazine super-welterweight titles all on the line.

Jonas leapt up three weight classes to knock out Chris Namus and win the WBO crown in spectacular style back in February – before returning to Liverpool to fight for the first time in three years earlier this month.

‘Miss GB’ produced a dazzling performance at the M&S Bank Arena as she unanimously outpointed Patricia Berghult to add the WBC title to her collection. And now Jonas’ quest for global domination sees her take on Dicaire (18-1-0, 1 KO), in what promises to be a momentous occasion for boxing.

Dicaire has only ever lost once in her professional career, when she fought Claressa Shields for the undisputed super-welterweight championship, and Jonas (12-2-1, 8 KOs) knows she is in for another tough night.

She said: “Once I was able to establish myself at this level I just wanted to stay there and keep on performing and keep getting titles.

“I think every fight at this level is going to be tough. Everyone who’s got a world title is that level, they are elite fighters. Berghult, who I’ve just boxed, was unbeaten.

“I know what I’m up against, I know it’s a tough test, I know it’s a big ask but I’m ready for the challenge. I think I’ve proven that throughout my career.”

“I think this is Tasha’s toughest test to date and it promises to be a spectacular women’s fight, just weeks after the iconic all-female card in London, on October 15,” Jonas’ promoter Ben Shalom added on the fight.
